About Patricia

Patricia Hetherington is a narrative content producer based in London. She has produced over 45 short films through her Production Company Busy Kiwi Productions Ltd (Company No. 09584562). She has worked on over 100 short projects (narrative and commercial) in most departments and continues to freelance as a Production Manager, Assistant Director, and Script Supervisor. 

She has narrative projects in a range of development. She continues to write short narrative films and features. Two of her latest short films – Drone (2025) and Garage (2026) – are on their film festival runs.

She runs Action On The Side (AOTS), a skills development project that supports independent filmmakers with opportunities, skills development, and community. The main project brings filmmakers together to make a short film across four weekends; AOTS has produced over 30 short films since July 2013. She also runs The AOTS 48, an annual 48-hour film competition; Cinema SoundEX for experimental audio and video artists; educational webinars; script development workshops; internships; and a short screenplay award. 

She has taught Media and Film Production at University and FE levels, including at Hult International Business School, Raindance Film School, and Kingston University. She is a previewer for the Native Spirit Festival (2026-present), a judge for the International Film Festival The Hague (2023-present), and was a jury member for Sci-Fi London 48 Hour Film Challenge (2023) and the Tels Quels festival (Belgium) LGBTQ+ short film competition (2023). She worked with the Ealing Film Festival as the Festival Coordinator and Previewer (2021-23). She is one of the founding members of the Creative Kiwi Collective, an organisation for New Zealanders in the UK in the Creative Industries. Her media industry roles include working at VICE Media, BAFTA albert, and the BBC.

She is interested in hearing pitches for genre pieces, narrative shorts, anthology features, and microbudget features (up to £1m).

Post Production: Post Production Coordinator, with experience in Editing, Sound Design, Data Management, and Delivery.
